Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner In Noir Black - Review & Swatches

When it comes to drugstore gel eyeliners, the first brand that clicks in my mind is Maybelline! yes, today I am going to talk about the most raved gel eyeliner that is Mayebelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner!

I am very much into eyeliners, kajal/Kohl pencils but the issue I face with very pencil is the smudging thing. So I wanted a long lasting formula which I could use as an eyeliner and on my waterline as well, so I ended up buying this gel eyeliner. Before getting this one for myself, I did a bit of research and the common issue that everybody pointed out was it's drying out quick.

If you're following me on instagram& facebook, I posted about it in June and it was a hot n humid weather at that time. I have been using it ever since. I must admit that the texture was soft 

& creamier in the beginning but now it's been almost 6 months and the formula is not the same anymore. I have noticed that it's surface has somehow become a bit dry but when I dip the brush deep, the product comes out creamier as of before. The dried up layer could be because of the cold weather too. The new packaging has double ended brush, the previous one was just a brush, now the foam is put at the other end for smudging which I do not find useful at all. 

Gel eyeliner is good for those who have shaky hands. I do not have shaky hands but I have found the application of gel eyeliner way more easier, smooth and controllable than the liquid eyeliner. Yes it's very intense black and totally smudge-proof. You have to be quick with the application as it dries quickly. The best thing which totally won my heart that it is an oil free formula and totally safe to use it on my water line even when I am wearing contacts. It does not irritate my eyes or makes them watery.

Now coming towards the wear time. In my experience,  the maximum time it stays put on my eye and water line is 8-10 hours if I keep it untouched, but if I accidentally rub my eye, it will start coming off in the form of flakes which makes it look blotchy. 

I totally love Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner and up till now, it's in my favorite's list . I have also got Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel. I am testing out the product and will post the review soon.

Overall, it's definitely a hit for me but try to use it within six months or before letting it dry completely.  I forgot to mention that it's packaging has kind of high end feeling unlike the other products of Maybelline. Do you agree?
